and to lift something up for another.

A Wall for Everyone

State of Prayers is a small, quiet place on the internet where anyone can share a prayer and have it carried by strangers around the world.

When it opens, anyone will be able to place a prayer on the wall — a worry they're holding, a hope they can't yet name, gratitude that needs somewhere to land, grief that's too heavy to keep alone. People who come across it will be able to tap I will pray, and they will — in whatever way is theirs.

What "prayer" means here

Prayer here means whatever the word means to you.

Some of us pray to God. Some of us pray to a god by another name. Some of us sit in silence and hold someone in mind. Some of us simply wish a stranger well as we go about our day.

The act takes many shapes, and the wall makes no claim about which shape is the right one. The asker doesn't need to know. They only need to feel that they were noticed.

The simple rule

Someone will come here in a hard moment, or a sweet one, or a moment that just felt too big to hold alone. They'll put it on the wall. What they'll need from the rest of us is the smallest and largest gift: that someone, somewhere, paid attention.

That's the whole idea. Everything else — the design, the moderation, the slow rhythm, the absence of comments and accounts and feeds — will exist to keep that gift clear.
